Postcards From WoW
Some Pics of me and my best friends from real life, just chillin. On the left there is my best friend Tim’s 80 Warlock, Thats my 79 Priest in the middle there, and my friend Luis’ 80 Paladin.
Blizz… GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER GUYS!!! Balance this shit out! BALANCE!
And look what was waiting!!

Still waiting to see if the patcher changes at all, but otherwise so excite!! TO BAD I WORK ALL FRIGGIN DAY TODAY Y-Y!!!!
The only problem is that I play on the Horde, and though the Horde has 3 races that can be shamans, I just don’t like the way any of them look… That probably seems really vain, but I’ve always had the philosophy to play what I’m going to enjoy looking at for all those hours I have to play. Trolls’ tusks and lack of shoes bother me. I like the orcs from a cultural standpoint, but that doesnt mean I want to look like one. And the Tauren… I refuse to be a moo cow -.-…. The only other race that can be shamans are the Drenai over on the Alliance. Now I LOVE the Dranei. I loved the starting area when I went through it on my priest before I payed to transform her into a blood elf. and while the male character models’ upper proportions are WAY outta line with the lower ones, the female ones flow much nicer (read: are friggin SEXY).
So my problem? Starting out on the opposite side of the game, with no money, no friends, no help… well that SUCKS. I’ve considered putting my shaman alt on a different server with a nice alliance population, but there’s still the matter of finding people to play with… I level slow, don’t input to chat much, and generally have a hard time of making friends online. So I am kinda at a loss for what to do for the moment… Ah well, I’ll figure it out later… Like after my priest actually gets to 80 ._.
Priest Project
Level 30 :D I’m happy i have made it this far
and Prayer of Healing is a god send <3
getting pretty sick of SM Graveyard though
We’re at the same level! And yeah, I swear if I get another bad tank and die in that place because of aggro, I’m going back to pretending my alts don’t exist. Hate it.
I MAIN a priest, and let me just say, I DESPISE druid tanks in particular… they cannot hold aggro worth a damm.
and if you think low levels are bad, wait till you get to 70 and your xp hits a brick wall. the slog to 80 on a priest SUCKS.

World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm Release Date Set →
Set your callanders people. Its almost here. Azoroth changes forever on December 7th.

The day that will live in infamy in Azeroth may be here sooner than you think. Thus far, Blizzard has been characteristically tight-lipped regarding the release date of Cataclysm the third expansion for its mega-MMOG World of Warcraft. It’ll be out when it’s done, of course, and not a moment sooner. We may now have some idea just when, exactly, that moment will be: December 7th. This is an unofficial date and has not yet been confirmed by Blizzard, of course. Still, there’s a fair bit of evidence supporting the theory: Two WoW fan sites (MMO Champion and WoWHead) both independently noticed that the latest patch notes contained the following information: “Arena battles and Rated Battlegrounds are only available during an active player versus player combat season. Season nine will begin on December 14th, so be prepared at that time to take your shot at glory!” Some of you may be saying, so the new arena season begins on December 14th? That doesn’t really tell us anything unless we’re fans of PvP combat, right? Maybe, maybe not - but then we have this post from official Blizzard representative Zarhym, which says that the new arena season will begin “approximately one week after the official launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.” Not only is December 7th a week before the planned new arena season, it’s also a Tuesday - the day on which Blizzard (and indeed, most major developers) releases all of its games. If that wasn’t enough, a WoWInsider poster also spotted a throwaway line in one of the fluff pieces surrounding the retaking of Gnomeregan event: “[With] the fall of the Lich King, the last great threat to the citizens of Azeroth, the chance of any cataclysmic event taking place in the foreseeable future is ‘less than 12.7%,’ Mekkatorque’s leading combat medical advisor Doc Cogspin purported.” 12.7%, hm? Cheeky, Blizzard. Very cheeky. As always, this is a rumor and shouldn’t be taken as the gospel truth until we hear something official from Blizzard - but if you wanted to start booking your days off in advance right now, I don’t think we’d blame you. Incidentally, this means that the expansion will have been in a beta testing stage for six months at launch, half again as long as either of the previous two. I guess there’s just more to test this time around. (Via 1UP) All Credit for the above article goes to John Funk at the Escapist (coolest place on the internets) and the sources at 1up
Today is not really a slow news day as we’ve leraned patch 4.0.1, which will continue the series of pre-Cataclysm events, will go live on Oct. 5 or 12. One of the two dates.
What I really wanted to talk about was Arcane Mages in Cataclysm.
There are quite a few changes incoming.
Arcane is already a pretty unique spec, but it’s diverging further from Fire and Frost via the talent Improved Mana Gem and the specialization Mana Adept. Imp Mana Gem’s tooltip says, “Mana gained from your Mana Gem also increases your spell power by 2% (2/2) of your maximum mana for 10 seconds. If you have 40,000 mana, that’d be an 800 spell power, independent of any other +sp buffs you may have. That alone sounds pretty good, even if you have plenty of mana, right? Well having plenty of mana is the point, because the specialization Mana Adept means Arcane mages will do more damage the more mana they have. In other words, one of your goals as an Arcane Mage is to keep your mana levels as high as possible, all the time. It also means you’ll want to use your cooldowns when your mana is high, to get the biggest DPS increase from those cooldowns.
Arcane Mages will no longer have Icy Veins (out of the Frost tree), because getting Icy Veins would require them to skip their ultimate talent, Arcane Power, the activated ability that gives them +20% damage at a 20% higher mana cost per spell. Also, Arcane Mages will be given Heroism/Bloodlust, which will be identical to the Shaman spell but be called Time Warp. Any Mage can cast this spell, not just Arcane mages. The point is that Time Warp will function in lieu of Icy Veins for Arcane Mages. Except it’s better — Time Warp lasts quite a bit longer than Icy Veins and the haste buff will extend to the entire party/raid now.
Talented, Missile Barrage will always be on — Arcane mages no longer have to wait for the proc. With no new damaging spells from the Arcane tree, you might be wondering why Blizzard would make a herpderp spec even herpderpier. Only Saurfang knows, guys. I guess Blizzard figures you’ll be too busy watching your mana levels to watch for Missile Barrage procs. Arcane Barrage is getting buffed, but it appears it still is really for hitting stuff on the run.
Arcane Mages may be using Fire Orb on trash. I can’t tell with 100% certainty, but it appears that talented, Arcane Explosion will once again be Arcane’s main AOE ability (not Blizzard). Close combat ftl?
My biggest question is whether or not Arcane Mages should use Mage Armor or Molten Armor. Molten Armor, which in Wrath is the armor all mages use, increases Mages’ crit chance relative to their total spirit, but Mage Armor will allow Arcane Mages to retain more mana over the course of a fight, which in turn would keep the Mages’ damage higher than if they used Molten Armor. A Prime Glyph allows more mana regeneration with Mage Armor on. It may be that max Arcane DPS requires the creative uses of both armors — for example, starting a fight with Molten Armor, popping cooldowns, nuking the shit out of the boss, then switching to Mage Armor until cooldowns are back up.
One thing I do know — Arcane Mages, stock up on mana potions. You’ll still have Mana Gems and Evocation, but you’ll want that one extra mana boost to keep your max DPS up.
I’ve taken a stab at an Arcane raid build. I’m not sure about this, as I feel I’m throwing away 3-4 points on talents that don’t seem all that useful in boss fights. It is clear that there’s no point specing any deeper than the first tier in either Fire or Frost.
Last note: Beta testers have been saying Arcane and Fire are actually pretty horrible when it comes to leveling, so Frost seems to be retaining its crown as Queen of the Leveling Specs.
